my second wedding nightmare Monday, January 31, 2005 mood:
remember my first wedding nightmare? well, last night, i had my second. holy fucking crap! it was so weird. i was married na daw, but during the ceremony, it was only like a regular mass. there was no "do you, tin, take roland to be blah blah". there was no blessing of the rings. there weren't even any wedding rings, for crying out loud! then my photog was only at the reception, so i had no pics at the hotel or at the church. waaaaah! i have GOT to relax... i was talking with one of my officemates earlier today, and she had just gotten back from her maternity leave. as we were catching up on what's been happening (her new kid, my wedding...), i told her about my recent wedding nightmare. then she tells me this horrible horrible story about what happened to the sister of the wife of her brother or something. whatever! the point is, it actually happened. anyhoo, the couple got married. so they had the ceremony at the church, of course. afterwhich, they went to their reception venue to find that it was totally empty. turns out that the caterer thought that the wedding was the following day pa. fuckity fuck! and she tells me this after i have just had a wedding nightmare. now don't ask me what happened after that because i didn't even bother to ask. i was too distraught to even consider asking. oh, i've got to tell you this true story. the same officemate who told me the catering brouhaha just gave birth a few months ago. you know where she gave birth? in her car. IN HER CAR!!! she and her hubby were on their way to the hospital but got stuck in traffic, so she decided to have the baby in the fucking car. as she was telling me this story earlier, i was cringing and writhing and feeling nauseous all at the same time. get this...the hubby was driving (and panicking, actually) and she was in so much pain, so she lifted her ass off the seat, took down her pants, and delivered her baby. as in she was cradling her baby in her arms while the umbilical cord was still connected to her peepee. HOLY FUCK! this seriously makes me have second thoughts on giving birth... ok, back to wed preps. enough gory stories. schmuck and i went to the palms last saturday to make the 50% downpayment. so far, it's the biggest shell out we've ever made. aacckk!!! but i believe it's well worth it. the food is just deeee-lish! lip smacking good indeed! i am already dreaming of their angel hair with smoked salmon... you know, i haven't spoken with our AE at the palms about anything wedding related. as in zilch. i just make the payments to ensure we have the date booked, but that's it. haha! i promise to do that very very soon. we finally booked QP last sunday to do our invites. we were actually supposed to go last saturday, but i made such a stupid booboo. i left our wedding folder at home, and we were like halfway there na. it had the quotation and the discount flyer, so we couldn't go there without it. schmuck was very nice about it, and just said that he's marrying an "ulyanin" (senile). ngyahaha! so on sunday, schmuck and i went to sm southmall, gave them the quotation from QP greenbelt, and sealed the deal. and i got my 10% discount c/o the flyer i got from the bridal fair. stingy bride gets her way! haha! funny moment happened while at QP. i was showing schmuck a sample of the invite, and remarked that the name on the sample was matet, which is his baby sister's nickname. then he points out that the groom's name is mickey, which is his older sister's nickname, although hers is spelled mikki. then the QP lady butts into our conversation and says that we were holding on to matet de leon's invitation. hahaha! how showbiz! anyhoo, we didn't spend too much time there anymore since schmuck and i came prepared. we already printed out a sample layout of the main invite and the entourage insert, in the font that we wanted, so we just handed it over to the QP lady. schmuck added an rsvp insert though, so we just gave the layout of that, paid the 50% downpayment, and we were done. huwahoooo! proofing is on wednesday, but i bargained with the QP lady if we could have it on tuesday (tomorrow!) since schmuck and i are both on leave, and we could attend to it immediately. the QP lady said she'll try. my fingers are crossed on that one. no work for me and schmuck tomorrow. yehey!!! we're scheduled for our canonical interview at st. james. the schedule is actually 9am to 12nn. i'm thinking, what the fuck are we going to be talking about for three whole hours?!?! must be some chatty priests there... i wonder what they'll ask us. i know there's the usual "do you really love him?" or "do you believe marriage is a sacrifice?" or something. but i know some couples who had priests that ask them "have you had premarital sex?" and stuff like that. do i have the right to tell the priest that it's really none of his business? hehehehe! not if i want to get married, right? haayyy... |
